I am beyond excited to announce that Mr. Vernon Collier will be joining Dana Being Dana to perform his dynamic single “Why Me?” on our first anniversary show. Tune in LIVE this Wednesday at 9 PM CT on Facebook and intellectualradio.com, an iHeartRadio station.
About Vernon Collier:
Born into a singing family, Vernon never had to look very far for inspiration and tutelage. From his youth, there was always gospel music playing on the A.M. station in the car. In church, he was in the choir, and he has fond memories of concerts where he heard the likes of Dorothy Norwood, Alvin Darling, Nancey Jackson Johnson and many other brilliant gospel artists. His mother could also generally be heard singing and praising and giving God glory around the house, in the car, at church and wherever and whenever she felt God’s presence.
Vernon’s love of singing started at an early age. His first grade teacher once commented, “Vernon is an excellent student, but he just sings too much in class.” Little did she know that even if he wasn’t singing aloud, there was always a song on his mind and in his heart.
Throughout his formative years, Vernon began writing poetry, which naturally progressed into songwriting. He has written dozens of poems and songs. He has also performed in countless plays and concerts. He received honors and accolades for the performances, however, it wasn’t until a talent show that one of the judges realized his potential and his musical career began. He was, thereafter, introduced to vocal trainer Troy Randall, who helped Vernon form his euphonious, mellifluous, sweet alto sound.
Vernon knows that his steps are ordered by God and all roads led him here. Several years ago, Vernon signed with an independent record label that took him further along in music and showcased his talents. A few years after working with that independent label, Vernon met Hasan Smith who asked him to be a part of an all male group, “TEAM DAVID.” Through his work with Team David and life experience, Vernon matured and gained a much deeper relationship with God. Vernon relishes the opportunity God has given him NOW to share with the world his passion for God, his happiness and devotion to the Lord with his new singles “Why Me?” and “For My Life.” This gifted servant is chasing after God and all He has in store for this ministry! Vernon was destined to sing…FOR THE GLORY OF GOD!
