Welcome back Friends! Hope all is going well and you are staying on track. Now that the holiday season is in full swing there are a couple of things I wanted to address this week.
First off, I am hearing from you that the holiday foods are very tempting. Of course they are, but Thank goodness they only come once a year. Could you imagine if you were tempted like this on a daily basis? Ugh! I would fail the test for sure. How do I make it through the holidays? I kick up my workouts a notch that way when I am tempted and I will be, I am free to eat and cheat and not feel guilty. This can be easier said than done. Days are shorter, it gets darker earlier and it’s cold…gross! I am fortunate enough to have a gym at work that I can utilize during my lunch and on my days off I roll out of bed, grab my coffee and get to the gym before my head can talk me out of it. Lol!

The second thing I want to address this week is the proper use of the weights and machines. I have seen time and time again people not doing the exercises correctly, which can be a defeating problem. If you aren’t sure how to use a machine or a weight ask someone at the gym. They are happy to help. Secondly, go slow. I see people rushing through there sets only to move on to the next machine. No!!! Slow down. Isolate the muscle that you are working on and go slowly. A lot of times I will close my eyes and focus on the muscle I am working on in order to isolate the muscle. I also don’t like to spend 4 hours in the gym so I will always do super sets. This means if I am doing legs for example, I will do 3 different leg exercises at once. I will do one set, move to the next exercise and do one set, move to the next exercise and do one set and I will rotate this 3 times before moving to the next set of exercises. This allows me to be able to spend a shorter period of time in the gym and get the most bang for my buck. I will take a 15-30 second break in between sets but I keep moving.

Let’s keep up the great work. Keep in mind your already ahead of the New Year’s Resolutioner’s so good Job. Keep sending me questions and checking in and I will do my best to help. You can Follow me on Facebook @ Sheri Ladd or on Instagram @ Ladd737
Until next time…#getit #nevergiveup
