Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.
Elegance is a glowing inner peace. Grace is an ability to give as well as to receive and be thankful. Mystery is a hidden laugh always ready to surface. Glamour only radiates if there is a sublime courage & bravery within: glamour is like the moon; it only shines because the sun is there. Poise is a perfect balance, an equanimity of body and mind, complete composure whatever the social SCENE. Elegant dress, immaculate grooming, and perfect deportment all contribute to the attainment of self-confidence. Sometimes simplicity and elegance are indistinguishable from each other.
I don’t want to be looked at and grab attention, that’s exhibitionism.. I would rather be seen more for my intelligence, for my elegance, for not being just another person seeking attention. I don’t want to catch someone’s eyes because those kind of attention spans are short and easily shifted to the next exhibitionist, I would rather stay in the memory as someone who refused to be a performer yet made an impact. Elegance and smartness is the sexiest thing you can have, not just the flesh. Yesterday I was clever, so I took the glory for me. Today makes me wise, so I give the glory to Thee. When efforts that are wisely executed, the situation and condition don’t affect the performance. Good character is Beauty.
Any intelligent fool can make things bigger, more complex, and more violent. It takes a touch of genius and a lot of courage to move in the opposite direction. If there are to be rules, they must be articulable and defensible, like etiquette. I do not do anything simply because my family did it. I do things because they make sense, and because they are elegant. Elegant means shedding everything superfluous and ending up with streamlined and functional. Elegant should be pleasing to all those who encounter it, in whatever capacity they do.
I have a different idea of elegance. I don’t dress like a fop, it’s true, but my moral grooming is impeccable. I never appear in public with a soiled conscience, a tarnished honor, threadbare scruples, or an insult that I haven’t washed away. I’m always immaculately clean, adorned with independence and frankness. I may not cut a stylish figure, but I hold my soul erect. I wear my deeds as ribbons, my wit is sharper then the finest mustache, and when I walk among men I make truths ring like spurs. Elegance is the perfect disguise for our violent nature a mask so convincing that we often fool ourselves the moment we dawn it.
I want to be the one you turn to for guidance and comfort. I want to create things that become a source of stability for people, some sort of home. Write books that you read until the edges are torn and songs that you listen to in your headphones on a lonely night bus, taking you somewhere far far away.I want to be so sure of my own place in the universe that no one could ever doubt me. What I’m about or what I’m here to do. I want to be a safe aura in a sea of worries and uncertainty. I want to stand for clarity where only chaos seems to grow. Elegance comes from being as beautiful inside as outside. Elegance is not about being noticed, it’s about being remembered.
The elegance of one’s life and character is directly proportional to the number of independent ideas one can see in the theorem and inversely proportional to the effort it takes to see them.
