A lot has been speculated about the bizarre meeting between Donald Trump, Jim Brown, and Kanye West at the White House on Thursday. The meeting broadcasted on every mainstream media outlet was hosted by Trump and attended by Hall of Fame football player Jim Brown, Kanye West, the lawyer of legendary Chicago organizer Larry Hoover, and a host of journalists and media agents.

Trump stated that the said meeting was just lunch with a few ‘friends’ that like each other, but the spectacle turned into much more than that. Once the cameras were rolling, Trump and Jim Brown started off the meeting discussing Jim’s lacrosse skills, then quickly transitioned to the relations of America and North Korea, at which point, Trump stated, “ we had a little dialogue,” referring to North Korean President Kim Jong-un. The lunch meeting became a stage on which Kanye West took the opportunity to take the spotlight and share with the world one of his now famous streams of consciousness that seem to have left the room appalled. Even Trump seemed to be amazed, or amused, depending on the angle from which his reactions were captured. One of the most emphasized topics Kanye West spoke about was the exoneration of infamous Chicago gang Chief Larry Hoover, who is serving six consecutive life sentences at the ADX supermax prison in Florence, Colorado. Kanye explained to Trump how important it would be for Hoover to be finally freed to the city of Chicago and the impact his presence would be to today’s youth and how his influence would put an immediate cease to the violence in Chicago. Trump responded by saying, “I’m open-minded,” which could mean anything but guarantees nothing. The stream of consciousness by Kanye carried on for more than 20 minutes, during which he also talked about the ways that construction of manufacturing factories in Chicago will lead to more jobs; he also discussed creative school curriculums, welfare, murder rates in Chicago, prison reform, 13th amendment revisions, the mental illness epidemic, and hydrogen powered airplanes. During the course of his stream of consciousness, Kanye stated, “If he don’t look good, we don’t look good,” referring to the perception and criticism of Donald Trump. Trump seemed to be flattered by the statement and responded by saying, “I tell you what, that was pretty impressive,” which was followed by laughter from the media agents. Not much was said by the other attendees in the meeting as Kanye passionately expressed his worldviews and vision for America.

The conclusion of the meeting was met with an array criticism, negativity, disapproval, alongside support and appreciation specifically from the Hoover family. Many of Kanye West’s longtime fans and supporters seem to be torn by his support for and admiration of Trump, which has left many people confused and skeptical of his intentions. Although Kanye’s behavior may seem bizarre to some, those who have watched him closely throughout the years know this is Kanye being Kanye. He is consistent with his unconventional bravery. There is always a method to the madness that is Kanye West, and whether people like it or not, Kanye serves as a conduit to fearless creativity and subsequent thought. The mind, art, intentions and actions of Kanye West represent precedents that won’t be understood or truly appreciated for generations to come.

With that being said, FREE LARRY HOOVER.

Thanks, Kanye.
