John Felageller is a Special Needs father who seeks to support other parents, specifically dads, through his motivational and uplifting blog posts, his live speaking engagements and a variety of interviews he has done. He also works directly with dads in his local area to provide mentor ship and support.
“I choose to do this work because I am profoundly aware of what it is like to be a special needs parent with no support and no one to reach out to as a lifeline when times get hard. I found this especially challenging as a man and father, since there are not as many resources for dads as there are moms, and men in these kinds of families bear an incredible burden with almost no one they can seemingly trust or reach out to.”
John has spent over 15 years in education, working with children from Infants to Middle School, serving in a variety of roles including Teacher, Mentor Teacher and School Director. has a passion for public speaking and adult/parent education, and has conducted several curriculum workshops at previous schools. John has also been very involved in his church community, having served on fundraising teams, as a ministry leader and, of course, Sunday School teacher.
John lives in Highwood, IL and is a single father to his son Christopher (ASD), and is currently the Educational and Social Programs Manager at Total Link 2 Community in Northbrook,IL.
