Patricia McGee.  I’m 58 and I’ve been a Deputy Sheriff with the Cook County Sheriff’s office for 25 years. I enjoy reading sports traveling music and seeing people happy.

Watching my mother do charity work growing up with her organization (Foster Care Children and Family Fund) and seeing there was a need for more people like her in the world so about 20 years ago I started doing little things like buying Christmas gifts for a small number of underprivileged kids. I felt like that wasn’t quite enough, so I then started  Asking friends family and business is to donate gifts once a year around Christmas time.  Working at the juvenile temporary detention center on watch many young kids come and go in knew there was a better way to reach them and keep them off the street. So I spoke with some friends to see if they wouldn’t mind spending a couple hours once a month to speak with the youth about getting into trouble and the dangers of ending up in jail or prison.  That’s how Monday Night With The Kids was started.
Once a month we get together at various neighborhood youth centers throughout Chicago and play video games, eat pizza and chit chat with positive role models ( Attorneys, Lawyers, probation officers, professional athletes, professional entertainers, judges and any other positive role model). Throughout the year the Chicago Bulls, Chicago Bears and Chicago Blackhawks donate tickets so the kids can enjoy the games. My only Requirement is the kids must be doing good in school with passing grades & good attendance.  Once a year at Christmas time I get my friends, family, associates and the Chicago sports teams to contribute for Christmas gifts for a Christmas dinner at a restaurant with Benny The Bull for entertainment. The sports teams donate autographed items that we raffle. They also donate clothing and shoes throughout the year for the kids. I treat the kids to dinner and have enough gifts to give 30 kids 4/5 gifts each. One week before the dinner I host a wrapping party and have friends wrap all the gifts we receive.
Everything from the website to the t-shirts worn by the volunteer staff is done by Mytees2.
