Eric Platt (more commonly known as Eric Boss) was born and raised in the Western Suburbs before moving to Chicago in 2010. He graduated with a Bachelor’s in Network and Communications Management in 2004 which led him to being an I.T. Recruiter with Randstad, a $23B Fortune 500 firm, for almost 10 years.
During this tenure in 2011 is where he started the nightlife industry part-time as a VIP Host at Crescendo. Eric found that it was more lucrative for him to work independently, so he started bringing in guests and creating reservations for most of the clubs in the city (e.g., SpyBar, The Mid, Castle, Studio Paris, Sound-Bar, Y Bar, Underground also, and more), and the moniker “Eric Boss” was born.
In 2014, Eric left recruiting to pursue a nightlife venture in Vegas where he was quickly recruited by an independent concierge named, “I Love Vegas”. They were contracted with all the elite venues in Vegas. Eric worked mostly at Marquee, Drais, Hakkasan, Omnia, Light, XS, Life, Sapphire, Spearmint Rino, among others. There he was promoted to VIP Services Manager.
After a year in Vegas, his father developed health issues so he decided to move back to Chicago so he could be with family as much as possible. Waiting at home for him was a Promotions Manager role at React Presents for the MID. There he managed 25-35 employees till React opened PRYSM Nightclub in 2016, where he was then promoted to Director of Promotions for both venues, taking on another 10-15 staff he was accountable for. While with React Presents, Eric won the award for 2016’s Best VIP Host in Chicago.
From the latter part of 2016 to 2018, he managed a real estate firm and held management roles at Trophy Room and The Underground before opening Electric Hotel Nightclub as their Director of Hospitality where he resides today.
