Brad Varsity (Brad Perl) is a Hip-hop artist and songwriter from Chicago, IL. V
ars, as most call him, began his musical journey in high school where he started writing poems and lyrics to help cope with being bullied. These lyrics turned to songs as he started to record his first music in a friend’s basement and release them under the alias B. Perl. 3 years later, he went on to perform at his senior prom and since then, has developed an ever-growing following that craves his unique flows, conscious lyrics, and high-energy bars.
Brad, a triplet, grew up in a hectic house-hold with his older brother and triplet siblings. His parents divorced early which caused some tension and heartache he had to work through. He turned to music where he would bump Linkin Park, Lil Wayne, and Jay-Z in his walkman everyday. These influences grew into Mac Miller, Kid Cudi, and Eminem, and developed his flow into one of the more unique ones you’ll hear today.
In 2017, he released his first mixtape “Dean’s List” all recorded, mixed, engineered, and mastered by himself in his bedroom at the University of Iowa. This garnered him some buzz on campus with his hit “On the Chase” accruing over 100,000 plays completely organically. Since then, he has independently released dozens of singles and has fans everywhere chanting his catch phrase “VARSGOTBARS”. He is currently working on dropping multiple projects over the course of the next few months and has his first Chicago headline show August 10th at 365-viii.
