Want to know what inspired me to help teachers? I’ve been working as a part-time substitute teacher and it broke my heart to see kids sharing 1-inch pencils with no eraser by the end of the school year and lacking other supplies they need to be successful.
I want to prevent this from happening in our schools so I took it upon myself to create a nonprofit organization to support our hardworking teachers and students in need.
The mission of Jumping Beans Chicago is to provide the necessary school supplies to as many students in need as possible. My goal is to inspire the people of Chicago to come together and support this important cause for the greater good of our city.
I have created a fundraising page for Jumping Beans where you can make a donation. Every bit counts… $1, $5, $10, $20, etc. We appreciate anything you are able to give.
Once Jumping Beans is up and running full force I will be hosting events throughout Chicago to support our mission. I’ll be sharing all event information here so be sure to turn on notifications and follow the page regularly.
Now, who’s ready to help the incredible teachers and students of Chicago?Donating supplies – Anything would help, Pens, Pencils, erasers, markers and pencil sharpener’s ….. messages Jumping Beans to help…
The goal of Jumping Beans is to provide students in grades K-12 in low-income Chicago Public Schools with the supplies necessary to promote learning. Often, the burden to providing school supplies for students falls to the classroom teachers. According to a recent article in US Today, classroom teachers can spend as much as $500 of their own money to support classroom needs. Our goal is to secure the funding needed in order to relieve teachers from the burden of spending their own money on school supplies.
