Chicago Bands Maggie Speaks and Talk of the Town Rocked the Stage at Governor J.B. Pritzker’s Inaugural Ball
Just months after celebrating 20 successful years of performance, award winning Chicago based cover band Maggie Speaks has made waves in the event and entertainment world yet again. Putting together a lifetime-best performance, the musicians took the stage to entertain at Illinois’ most talked about event of the year. In early January, Naperville entertainment company Magnificent Event bands Maggie Speaks and Talk of the Town Big Band took stage at the Illinois Inaugural Ball alongside fellow musicians The CoverGirls Violin Show.
The musicians entertained an audience of over one thousand, performing crowd favorites like Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin’” and “Rappers Delight” by the Sugar Hill Gang. Talk of the Town also had the honor of performing Governor J.B. Pritzker’s first dance with his wife, playing “How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved By You)” by Marvin Gaye. Following an entrancing performance from William Close and The Earth Harp Collective and an outstanding surprise act from Maroon 5, the bands kept the crowd dancing into the wee hours of the morning.
Maggie Speaks is spearheaded by frontman and founder Dave Calzaretta, a CPA turned musician and entertainment professional. Guided by his motto, “If it doesn’t exist, I will create it,” Dave and his expert team have taken the event world by storm and worked to bring unforgettable experiences to clients across the globe. “I have grown the company quite a bit to where we create a lot of custom entertainment for clients. I have some of the top performers working with me in the city and I love the creative process,” says Calzaretta. “I constantly tell my clients that, ‘if what you want does not exist, we will create it.’ In this process, we have gained the trust of our clients. When absolutely nothing can go wrong, they know they can count on us to deliver.”
After founding Maggie Speaks and the entertainment company Magnificent Events, Dave quickly established himself as one of the top event producers in the Chicagoland area. Whether it be creating an entirely custom show complete with props and fit-to-theme tunes, or collaborating with legendary musical artists like Steve Augeri of Journey, Mark McGrath of Sugar Ray, and Eddie Money for a celebrity-centered cover experience, Dave and the team at Magnificent Events have truly created an exclusive approach to the event planning profession garnishing attention from not only J.B. Pritzer’s event team, but of International event planners across the globe.
