Bruning & Associates, PC Managing Partner Celebrates 30 Years
Chicago, Illinois, December, 2018: Bruning & Associates, PC Managing Partner, Kevin Bruning, celebrates 30 years as a licensed attorney.
Kevin Bruning began his law career in 1988 after graduating from DePaul University College of Law. After spending twelve years with one of the largest law firms in the nation, he founded Bruning & Associates, PC in 2000. Bruning & Associates, PC is a full service law firm with offices based in Chicago, Schaumburg, and Crystal Lake Illinois. While collectively, the attorneys at Bruning & Associates, PC have over 120 years of experience in all areas of civil practice, Mr. Bruning is especially passionate about litigation, trial work and community engagement.
Mr. Bruning’s empathy and social consciousness play a role in his career and the founding of Bruning & Associates, PC. His interest in social awareness and philanthropy is rooted in his high school years when he attended Wayland Academy a College Preparatory Co-educational boarding school located in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. He was fortunate to attend school with students from all over the world.
“The opportunity to live and study in a very small community of diverse individuals of different backgrounds and ethnicities had a profound impact upon my view of the world,” Mr. Bruning explains. His time at Wayland Academy was so influential, that four of his six children also attended the school.
Mr. Bruning’s large, blended family of eight, has also significantly influenced his career. His wife Ellen is of Japanese heritage and her family suffered significant injustices during World War II. Ellen’s mother and grandparents, as well as all of her aunts and uncles, were imprisoned in the US concentration camps established to detain Japanese US residents and citizens. Mr. Bruning and his wife are very involved in activities to create awareness concerning the wrongful imprisonment of the Japanese Americans during WWII, and how the lessons learned from that terrible mistake in our history are particularly applicable to current events.
Mr. Bruning is also an active member of his community. He is a founding member of the Rotary Club Fox Valley Sunset in Crystal Lake, Illinois established in 2012 and was named Rotarian of the Year for the second time, last year. He also was a member of the Rotary Club Crystal Lake Dawnbreakers in Crystal Lake, Illinois from 1996-2012. Furthermore, he is involved with several area Chambers of Commerce.
The members of Bruning & Associates, PC are all as passionate about community involvement as Mr. Bruning. From PAWS Chicago to Autism Speaks, his staff spend their time and dollars giving back to those in need around Chicagoland. Mr. Bruning says, “I believe that it is a privilege to be permitted the opportunity serve others through our businesses and as such every business has an obligation to help their community. Today, more than ever, we must acknowledge that the business community be focused on helping people in the need.”
Mr. Bruning and his team are excited to expand their Chicago influence with the growth of their newest Chicago office located at 2. N Riverside Plaza. The firm is expanding in 2019 to better serve the diverse needs of our communities adding new attorneys with additional service offerings in the areas of immigration law, corporate law, and family law specialties.
