The reception is organized by the group: Artists on The Bluff. The artwork exhibited ranges from Impressionism to realism. This month’s poster features artist:  Susan Anne Russell depicting one of her waterfall paintings titled: “Sacred Falls.”

Artists on The Bluff is an established art league with a variety of artists and styles presenting to The North Shore themed exhibits. The artists reside all over the Chicago area. The league is a foundation of the community and offers an added cultural atmosphere to the art scene.

Susan Anne Russell is a Chicago based artist exhibiting at venues ranging from The Prestigious: Palette and Chisel Academy of Fine Art, to The North Shore Art League in Winnetka. She has been as of late, in spiritual related themes shows. Recently she exhibited in a juried show at The Highland Park Art Center, titled “Ritual and Spirituality”. The show was juried by the Mexico City native, Gabriela Leyva.

In 2018, Susan’s painting “Spirit Messenger” was selected for Artists on The Bluff “Spirit” poster. Susan’s  work is currently on exhibit at The North Shore Art League’s City and Landscape show, Coincidentally, she was in The Palette and Chisel “City” show, where she is a member. The Winnetka Community House, through North Shore Art League,  granted her a Solo Show titled “Ethereal Dreams” in 2019. In January of 2020, Susan exhibited at The Elmhurst Art Museum, in the show titled:  “Beyond The Surface”, coordinated by Art-makers North. Ethereal Dreams- Sunset Over Clouds, will be represented in the Lake Forest show.  With this in mind, Susan is connected to her art from a spiritual source.
At the show she has a description next to her paintings: Heavenly Falls, Scared Falls, Abundance from Above and Ethereal Clouds. It reads:

Susan Anne Russell finds inspiration from the spirituality

hidden and revealed in wondrous nature. She captures the

energy and reverberations that pulse through life. Her work

breathes life into the soul of nature with heightend vitality.

Water, the ever giving and present element, is a continuous

theme in her work.

Offering in her Impressionistic style painting a unique

aesthetic, she balances the inner spirit and the material world.

“Reworking the power of landscape, I seek to uncover a

common denominator to explore voyages through epiphany

and spirituality. I paint guided by an inner muse, seeking to

uncover truths.”

The Gallery will have its opening reception, open to the public on March 12th from 5:30-7:30 at 202 E Wisconsin Ave, Lake Forest, IL. Wine and food will be served
