With the weather getting warmer, patio season is here! Ditch the hand warmers and head to some of the city’s most innovative outdoor spaces for drinks, bites and good times.
Gamers rejoice! Replay Lakeview combines nostalgia and drinks for a great time. On the menu you’ll find rotating draft beers and 56 varieties of Bourbon, Scotch and Whiskey. While you’re enjoying a cold one, have some fun playing one of the 18 free retro arcade games. Out on the patio you’ll find special guests Mario and Donkey Kong have come to life, running their course, just like in the game.
Early Risers and Late Nighters
The Long Room’s backyard is an intimate outdoor space open early and closing late, every day of the week. Stop by for a cup of farmer-friendly Kickapoo coffee, or a beer on tap. Appreciate the large scale mural, brought to life by and Leah Tumerman while meeting other Ravenswood locals and nibbling on bites from The Biscuit Man, including grilled cheese, bacon, egg and cheese biscuits and rice bowls.
Located right across from Wrigley Field you’ll find The Bar at Hotel Zachary. Decorated with lush greenery and views of Wrigleyville from above, it’s a quick pit stop for drinks before first pitch. Enjoy live music on Fridays from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. and Saturdays from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. Celebrate Pride from now until June 30 with $12 specialty cocktails. 25 percent of all proceeds will benefit the Center on Halsted, the community center dedicated to the well-being of Chicago’s LGBTQ community.

Chicago might be the Windy City but when the warm weather hits, the beach is the move. The Dock at Montrose Beach brings daily live music sessions and late night luaus. Enjoy a refreshing island punch, mojitos or margaritas, and snack on some guac, hummus, tacos, burgers or fish and chips.
On the water
Summer is all about warm weather, sunshine and life on the water. The Kitchen Bistro sits right in the Chicago River, offering unbeatable views for lunch, dinner, brunch and happy hour. The founders pride themselves on serving real food sourced straight from American farmers. Fresh food. Fresh drinks. Fresh views.
A Slice is Nice
Grab a slice at Homeslice Wheel House. While you’re there, head out to the patio for witty signs like “I could give up pizza, but I’m not a quitter,” and “I will never drink again starting never.” The highlight? A giant pepperoni pizza made from flowers.
