That caffeine craving is telling you it’s time for a morning or afternoon pick-me-up. Whether you’re grabbing a cup to go or sitting down for a pastry, live music and relaxing outing, these shops have the java brewing for you.

A Classic Twist

Philz Coffee started as a shop in San Francisco that has since grown to more than 50 locations across the country. The most recent? Right here in Chicago.

It’s founder, Phil Jaber, has brought more than 12 custom blends of brew to life. One of the most original is the Mint Mojito Iced Coffee. Combining fresh, muddled mint, cream and sugar, this is a caffeinated twist on the Cuban classic.

“We specialize in pour over drip coffee, so you find espressos or lattes at our shop,” said Jolie Meschi, Marketing Communications Manager at Philz Coffee. “Each cup is made to order and customized to our customers taste.”

Grab your cup at the Wicker Park location from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., everyday. Be sure to show your pride with rainbow gear or other means of support for a special BOGO offer during Pride Weekend June 29-30. www.philzcoffee.com

Shine Bright

Everyone deserves a moment to shine. Werewolf Coffee Bar is bringing that opportunity to Chicagoans. Stop by for a sparkling latte. Enough said. Non-dairy milk options include almond, soy and coconut, with lavender, vanilla and hazelnut shots for that extra splash of flavor.

Health-Conscious Caffeine

Bru Chicago is putting a focus on health with their cups of coffee.

“We’re a local coffee shop with our own style and culture, said a representative from the shop. “Our interior, for example, talks for itself. We love Wicker Park and Wicker Park seems to love us.”

The shop just launched a collection of CBD-infused beverages. By adding CBD in the beans they use, and CBD oil in their juices and smoothies, the team is able to bring a new concept to the city. It doesn’t stop there. Also on the menu, you’ll find smoothie bowls, gluten-free wraps and new juices.

Loud and Proud

Goddess and the Baker is bringing Pride to its menu. Now through June 30, $1 from every bag of their signature rainbow blend coffee, in partnership with Metric Coffee, will be donated to the Center on Halsted, benefitting the LGBTQ community. They even have rainbow cake, with proceeds also benefiting the center.
