If you consider yourself a ‘fashion lover’ I’m sure you already have the stylish outfit, fine jewelry and tickets to Chicago’s April Fashion Week.
The fashion shows, presented by Fashion Bar, theme for April’s Fashion Week is “living your truth”. Where designers can showcase their brilliant designs by showing the Chicago fashion scene what living their truth means to them through beautifully made apparel.
The show kicks off April 5th lasting through April 9th at the Water Tower Place. Each day has different collections from local designers.
Day 1 is Kids Wear and Bridal. This is also the first time Fashion Week will have an exclusive collection for Kids Wear and Bridal.
Moving on to day 2 is NextGen- recent graduates that studied fashion- showcasing various clothing lines and accessories from new prospects.
Following that is Eco Friendly. This fashion show is exhibiting designs made from recyclable materials only.
Trans Media Fashion Show begins day 4. Models that are non gendering are participating as well. This show will also bring awareness to the importance of trans women and men.
Next, day 5 fashion show is Modern and Ready to Wear styles. These fashions are designed to be sleek, chic and futuristic.
Swim/Resort Wear and Urban Streetwear take day 6. Swim and Resort will showcase swimsuits for spring/summer 2020 that flatters all body types. Urban Streetwear is the most attended show, according to Fashion Bar. Fashions from this collection are hot trends with graffiti/street art designs.
Lastly, the final day ending fashion week is Modest and Evening Identity Show. Modest wear features collections tailored for men and women with Islamic designs. Finally closing April’s Fashion Week is Evening and Identity. Multiple designers will be displaying garments that make their collection stand out and be bold. With lots of frill, sequins, feathers it’s sure to leave a fierce statement.
