Risk is the clue that our dreams are both real and great.
Assumptions are quick exits for lazy minds that like to graze out in the fields without bother. To simply survive appears to be the choice of the plodding hoards that wander all around me. Therefore, I’ve adamantly committed to never hoard hoards. It is never ideal to be passive by accepting whatever is personally unacceptable. We cannot achieve our goal when we are afraid, not confident, passive and indecisive. The active minority in the world is the fraction that makes the world a better place for the passive majority.
Experience is not worth the getting. It’s not a thing that happens pleasantly to a passive you–it’s a wall that an active you runs up against. If you turn a blind eye to the world now, history will turn a blind eye to you later. Ignoring an issue makes you a tacit supporter of it. Pushing your limits is what allows you to grow stronger, so if you find yourself feeling passive, it can make sense to dial it up a little. Get moving. Accomplish something small. Do something you enjoy. Embrace what moves you. And start again. God created everyone uniquely and for a purpose, and not to be on this earth as a passive spectator.
One of the most terrifying questions of all might be, ‘Will I unleash myself to live before death unleashes me from the ability to be unleashed?’ And in retrospect, maybe it’s not the question that’s terrifying. Maybe what’s terrifying is the answer.I might define a ‘journey’ as something that life itself calls me to. And I might then define a ‘trip’ as something I create to avoid a journey by mimicking a journey. And while fear is most certainly part and parcel of both, the latter is emboldened by fear while the former surrenders to it.
Often the devil wants to distract us from our goal, to make us passive and neutralize our actions. By choosing comfort we are in the very same decision choosing to miss every great thing in life, and that thought should be anything but comforting. The road with no signage is the road that has yet to be tamed by men. And as such, it remains a road when all the others have become parking lots.
I constantly watch people I have a fear of being passive, and what I admire about all those not passive is that every choice they make is really strong. Even if they’re playing something very quiet, it’s visceral and bold. The desire to catch, as is antithetical to being in the moment. The passive individual is an observer to others’ moments. The Picture People have dedicated themselves to this paradox, and consign themselves on either side of the equation. It is dangerous to be in a passive position. When there is no specific task, the human’s subconscious mind will be in a passive state. Being gentle doesn’t stop us fighting for our dreams.
If you build a better mousetrap, the world will beat a path to your door.’ It sounds great, right? The only problem is that, as it turns out, it’s not even remotely true. Worse yet, it encourages people to passively wait for someone else to give them a break. Most people who do that will grow old waiting for someone to come along and recognize their genius
We cannot achieve or goal when we are afraid, not confident, passive and indecisive. Guilt loves the passive.
Passive attitudes yield passive outcomes.
