 March 28, 2017 launches month-long “GoBlue4OHU” Restaurant Campaign

What: One Hope United invites local foodies to Go Blue during its annual effort to shine a spotlight on and fundraise for the nonprofit’s child abuse prevention programs during April, National Child Abuse Prevention Month.

Twenty Chicago restaurants have joined One Hope United’s month-long GoBlue4OHU campaign supporting National Child Abuse Prevention Month, culminating in the organization’s April 29 annual fundraiser, Hope in Action.  Go Blue for One Hope United restaurants will feature a variety of menu items for local diners to sip, savor or feast on. Proceeds benefit One Hope United’s child abuse prevention programs.  One Hope United is one of Chicago’s oldest private human service organizations, working to ensure every child can look forward to a life without limits.

Go Blue menu offerings include a variety of cocktails and nonalcoholic beverages from Nellcôte, RM Champagne Salon, Old Town Social and Leghorn Chicken, a Blue Boost from Beatrix, Spinach Lamian from Imperial Lamian and the Chef Tasting Dinner from Davanti Enoteca and a host of other offerings at other participating restaurants throughout April (see list of participating restaurants below).

Marco Foster, one of One Hope United’s most passionate ambassadors, conceived of the GoBlue4OHU campaign four years ago to raise awareness of and contributions for child abuse prevention.  Foster is being honored for his philanthropic work at One Hope United’s annual fundraiser on April 29th.

“‘Go Blue’ is an opportunity for Chicago diners to help make life safer for children,” said Foster. “As someone who grew up in a good foster home, I know firsthand the value of One Hope United’s work to ensure kids grow up in supportive and positive environments. I’m thankful that these Chicago restaurants are shining a light on child abuse prevention and supporting One Hope United’s efforts to ensure that no child experiences the trauma of abuse.”

As an added bonus, attendees at the Go Blue kickoff will be offered discounted tickets for One Hope United’s Annual Hope in Action fundraiser, April 29, 2017 at the JW Marriott, 151 W. Adams, Chicago. Foster will receive the organization’s Ermit Finch Impact Award during the event, for his deep commitment to children and families. The event also features stand-up comedy by Saturday Night Live alumni Tim Meadows and Colin Quinn.

As an added incentive to dine out for a good cause, the GoBlue4OHU restaurant campaign encourages any foodie to Instagram a featured Go Blue menu item at any partnering restaurant and tag #GoBlue4OHU for a chance to win a fabulous prize package, including gift certificates from participating restaurants.
